Recruitment
Each year, we strive to recruit a new diverse pledge class that will embody our Chi Phi values; we simply seek for men that will surely prove to be great brothers to live and be friends with.
If you ask one of our brothers “What particular aspect of Chi Phi made you join them?” he will probably state the fact that our fraternity is a great group of successful, interesting and social men who come from very different backgrounds but still turn out to be friends and brothers for life. Our brotherhood cannot be typified by a particular major, sport, hobby, career path, ethnicity or nationality; the only thing that we all have in common is that we pledged to live by our core values Truth, Honor and Personal integrity.
Because we want all of our brothers to live and interact well together in our beautiful house as sophomores, juniors and seniors (freshmen are required by MIT to live on campus), only those freshmen who we unanimously agree to live and be brothers with, will be recruited as New Members of the Beta Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity.
We organize a numerous fun and exciting events (link to calendar) during MIT’s Rush Period, at which incoming freshmen can get to know our brothers, friends and recent alumni (and vice versa of course). Therefore, our events are very laid-back and open to both guys and girls. In general, Rush is a great period for incoming freshmen to connect with the upperclassmen of the 26 MIT fraternities, and we encourage you to participate, even if you are not sure about joining a Greek organization.
For an overview of our scheduled Rush events, please refer to the Calendar section. If you have any questions about our recruitment policies, please contact our Recruitment Chairs Michael Hurley (908-839-6656) and Ryne Barry (602-616-1165).
